How To Get Started

At Teacher Direct you do not need to register or login to view our site or shop.

If you wish to register before shopping click the "Register". From here, fill in the required fields (marked with a *), along with any other optional information you wish to disclose. Remember that all the information you provide to Teacher Direct is strictly confidential (refer to our "Privacy and Security" Section).

If you would like to create an account after completing your purchase you can do this by simply entering a your email address and password once you have clicked on the Proceed to checkout. You can also create a password by clicking on the ‘Forgotten Password’ link and entering the email address you used when placing your order. Your new password will then be sent to you by email.

You can change your password by logging in and selecting “My Account’ and then ‘change my account password’. Please remember your password and keep it confidential to prevent other people from accessing your account.

Creating a password will enable you to track your orders and view your order history.

You are now ready to shop!

Go Shopping

Logging in
If you have just registered with Teacher Direct, click on the "continue" button to be directed to the homepage. If you are returning to Teacher Direct and already have an account, login using the login box on the left hand side of the screen. If you would like to create an account please see the "how to get started" section above.
 
Shopping
You can navigate your way around the site clicking on departments and categories. These have been designed to make your shopping experience quick, easy and enjoyable. If you see a product that you like scrolling across the product showcase, click on it to learn more about it. Similarly, if you would like further information on any of the specials displayed, click on it to learn more. When viewing a product you may click on "reviews" to see additional information and comments.

Search
If you are looking for something in particular enter the word or words in the search box near the top of your screen.

Your shopping cart
If you would like to add a product to your shopping cart, click on the "add to cart" button, located below the product. It will now be added to your shopping cart and you can continue to browse and add items until you are ready to check out. Items that are in your shopping cart are displayed on the top right of your screen at all times. To change the quantities or delete a product select the "Go To Cart" button. If no changes are required you can go directly to the checkout by selecting the "Checkout" button. On the shopping cart page you may select to "continue shopping" or "checkout" using the buttons at the bottom of the page.

Change product quantity
To change a product quantity open your cart, enter the quantity and then select the "update" button at the bottom left of your screen. You may change multiple products with one update.

Removing items from your shopping cart
You are able to remove items from your shopping cart at any time before you complete the check out process. If you want to remove an item open your shopping cart and tick the box next to the product or products you wish to remove. Next select the "update" button at the bottom left of your screen. You may remove as many products at one time as you wish.

Checking out
The checking out process begins by selecting the "Proceed to Checkout" button in the shopping cart.

If you already have an account and have logged in your default delivery address will be displayed. Check that the delivery address as shown is correct. If you want your order shipped to a different delivery address you may enter that now by selecting the "Change Address" button. If you have an account and have not logged in you may do so now by entering your account email address and password. If you do not have an account enter your email address and order delivery address information where shown and click the “continue” button. Please check that you have entered a valid email address as we will send your order confirmation and order updates to this address. Note: Your email address remains confidential to us.

On the next page you can select the level of delivery service you would like. All orders are delivered with track and trace and signature required. The delivery time depends on the destination country. See our Delivery Information Page for more information.
There is also a field where you may enter a gift card message or any relevant comments about your order.

If you are using a credit card complete the required fields. If you are paying by check/cheque print a copy of your Order Confirmation page and send it with your check/cheque.

Please double check that all the details here are correct. When you are completely happy with your order, select the "confirm order" button at the bottom of the page. Please only click the "confirm order" button once and allow a few moments for this to be processed. This will be followed by an order confirmation page. Your order has now been submitted and processing will begin. Please remember that once your order has been shipped, you are no longer able to cancel it. You may view the status of any of your orders by logging in and going to "My Account".

Email Orders
If you do not wish to use our online process to make a purchase we can process your order for you. If you would like to do this please send an email to hotline@teacherdirect.co.nz with the following information:
1. Your name and delivery address.
2. Details of the products and quantity you would like to purchase.
If you do not wish to use our online process to make a purchase we can still process your order for you. Please email hotline@teacherdirect.co.nz with your phone contact details and a Teacher Direct staff member will be in touch to process your order.

Payment

There are several ways in which you can pay for your purchase:
1. Credit Cards - We accept the following credit cards: Visa, MasterCard and DebitPlus. Please see our Website and Credit Card Security Section on our Privacy & Security Page
 
2. Cheque/Check - If you are paying by cheque/check please print and attach a copy of your order. Cheques/checks should be made payable to "Teacher Direct Ltd" and sent to our postal address.
 
3. Direct Credit - Payment can made directly into our bank account in selected countries. A list of these accounts can be seen when you select the "Direct Credit" option on the payment page. If you choose this payment method you will be supplied with the account information when you confirm your order. Please show your order number as the reference. Any bank charges charged by the remitting bank must be paid for by the customer.
 
4. Cash - You are welcome to visit our showroom and warehouse in Wellington. We can accept cash for purchases made in person. Please see out Contact Us Page to see our Location.
 
Fraud - Any attempt to make a fraudulent payment transaction will be reported to the local authorities where the transaction originates.

Delivery

We can ship New Zealand packages to most places in the world. Note that some products may not be allowed or may be restricted in some countries. Responsibility for this rests with the purchaser and if you are not sure if a particular item is permitted in your country we recommend that you check before ordering.
 
Teacher Direct delivery's have a tracking number and signature is required on delivery.
 
Your order will be delivered in separate parcels of less than 26kg (around 44 pounds) each for ease of handling and shipping. Our shipping & handling rates are based on the price of the total order.
 
Our products are delivered with free insurance when you purchase from Teacher Direct. In the highly unlikely event that your item arrives damaged, or is lost, let us know, and we will either replace it (if a replacement is available) or issue a refund - the choice is yours. See our Refunds and Exchanges Policy.
 
Any import duties or taxes, which are levied by the authorities in the destination country are at your cost.
 
Please check your delivery address carefully as we will not be responsible for delivery to an incorrect address. The customer shall be responsible for the cost to resend a parcel that is returned because of an incorrect address.
 
Goods delivered to a New Zealand address include a Goods & Services Tax (GST) of 12.5%. See our Delivery Information page for more information.

My Account

To view your account, select the "my account" at the top of the page after you have logged in. From here you can view and/or change your account details.

Previous orders
You may view the details of any previous orders and also find out what stage of processing your current order is at i.e. ordered, approved, processing, shipped etc

View or change my account information
Select this option to alter any of your personal details.

View or change entries in my address book
Select this option to change your billing and/or shipping address. You may enter two different shipping addresses. One can be set as your default delivery address however you can change this or add another during the checkout process.

Change my account password
Select this option to change your account password used to login.

Email Notifications:
Subscribe or unsubscribe to newsletters
Newsletters will keep you updated on the latest happenings and special buys at Teacher Direct. Your email address remains confidential and we do not share it with any third party.
View or change my product notification list.
This option allows you to be kept informed about products of particular interest to you. You can ask us to inform you about all new products and specials by placing a tick in the "global product notifications" box. You may also remove any specific products that you have previously asked us to keep you informed about.
